Why: This is a crash course into the program Adobe Photoshop. This is a great seminar to take if you are a photographer or graphic designer that wants to better their understanding of photoshop. We will cover thebasics of Photoshop.
Cost: $50 - This is such a small investment that will better your understanding of photoshop.

Lesson 1: Introduction to the Photoshop
- Getting to know the work area. Module positions.
- Toolbox, canvas and palettes.
- Using the File Browser - Bridge.
- Vector vs. Raster based images.
- Create New Doc - Resolution for 300dpi print and for 72dpi for web.
Lesson 2: Basic Photo Corrections
- Color Corrections using the Curves Palette.
- Cropping, automatic color adjustments, tonal adjustments, color replacement.
- Dodge and Burn tools as well as other methods - soft light layer burn/dodge.
Lession 3: Colors
- Switching the foreground and background colors.
- Using the Swatches Palette.
- Choosing colors - creating custom gradients, color tints.
Lesson 4: Working with Selections
- Magic Wand, Marque tools, lasso tools, Transforming Selections.
- Create a selection from layer, Adding and subtracting from a selection, Inverting a selection.
- Refine the Selection.
- Transform tools, rotating objects, flipping objects.
Lesson 5: Layer Basics
- Understanding the layer palette.
- Naming layers.
- Creating, deleting, rearranging, set opacity, hiding and locking.
- Flattening, grouping layers and copy merged layers.
Lesson 6: Masks and Channels
- Creating and saving selections.
- Loading selections from layers or channels.
- Quick Masks with brush tool and gradient tool.
Lesson 7: Basic Retouching Tools
- Clone tool.
- Healing Brush, Patch Tool and Spot Healing Tools.
- Retouch on a separate layer.
Lesson 8: Pen tool
- Drawing straight paths.
- Drawing curves.
- Combine straight and curved path segments.
- Editing anchor points.
- Creating custom shapes, stroke, fills.
Lesson 9: Guides and Rulers
- Using guide lines
- Using the grid.
- Snapping objects to guides and grids.
- Aligning objects.
Lesson 10: The History Palette
- Creating snapshots.
- Creating new documents.
Requierments
The Seminar will begin at 7pm and end at 10pm. Please be at your seat. If you have registered in advance, you will be assigned a seat.
- Bring a Laptop with Photoshop CS 1 ; CS 5 is preferred.
- 10 lessons will be covered within a 3 hour period // 7pm- 10pm.
